The New York Anime Festival (NYAF) has announced that Masaharu Morimoto, the chef best known for his appearances on the Japanese and American versions of the Iron Chef television competitions, will appear at the convention on September 26. Morimoto will hold a question-and-answer session and a book signing on that day.

Marvel Entertainment is partnering with top Japanese animation studio, Madhouse, to create anime characters based on its iconic superheroes, such as Iron Man and Wolverine, for the Japanese market.

Marvel has signed a deal with anime producer Madhouse to create a lineup of animated series for the Japanese market featuring the company's stable of comic-book superheroes, Variety reported.

Update: The Sports Nippon newspaper has posted two images of Iron Man — the original American version from Marvel Comics that inspired the live-action film (pictured at right), and the Japanese anime version by the Madhouse studio.

The live-action adaptation of Aruko 's Yasuko to Kenji shōjo manga (pictured at right) gained a 12.3 rating when it aired on August 16 at 21:00. The animated Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo 2 - Satsuriku no Deep Blue film reaired as a Thursday Special Theatrical Anime program on August 14 at 19:00 for a 5.0 rating.
